Many Lands, Many Seasons

You may have heard of Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. But did you know that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have their own names and times for the seasons?

This knowledge is unique to each language group and their environment and has been passed down through the generations for over 65,000 years.

This series explores six Aboriginal seasonal calendars to find out how the unique knowledge they contain helps the traditional owners to hunt, fish and collect bush tucker at the best time!
