Cotton Production as a Global Economic Activity

Cotton production as a global economic activity has been designed for the new NSW HSC Geography syllabus for Global Sustainability.
This new resource will provide a niche study of cotton production for the global economic activity of agriculture within the topic of Global Sustainability. Students will investigate the need to monitor and evaluate sustainability in the global economic activity of agriculture. They will focus on a study of cotton production during which they examine a range of strategies for sustainability. Students will learn to interpret stimulus material to develop their Geographical Inquiry Skills and will practice and develop their writing skills to answer HSC-style questions.
The teacher guide consists of two activities, worksheets and an answer guide. These activities will build students’ knowledge and understanding on the global economic activity of agriculture and cotton production, whilst developing their HSC writing skills.
