Positive Power Solutions

The world is facing a critical challenge in terms of energy security. The issue has come to the forefront in Australia, particularly in Tasmania and South Australia, where the country has faced difficulties in terms of energy reliability and generation. This is where your students come in. As teachers, you have the opportunity to provide hands-on, engaging learning experiences that will help your students understand the importance of energy security and the role of renewable energy in addressing the issue.

In this lesson plan, you will challenge your students to work in teams to design a model of a renewable energy generator. This could be a wind turbine or any other form of renewable energy generator that you choose. The objective is for each team to create a model of their generator, complete with a demonstration video and an instruction manual. This project will allow your students to apply their creativity, problem-solving skills and knowledge of renewable energy to create a practical solution to the energy security challenge.

By participating in this project, your students will not only learn about the importance of energy security and renewable energy, but they will also develop important skills such as collaboration, communication, and critical thinking. This teacher resource provides an engaging and meaningful learning experience for your students that will have real-world impact.
