FMD Awareness – Protecting your livelihood and community
This eLearning course provides information about the risks of foot-and-mouth (FMD) disease to Australia’s livestock industries and our whole community. It teaches what can be done to help prevent FMD reaching and infecting susceptible livestock, possible signs of FMD to look out for and what to do if you see FMD signs in an animal. The course includes videos and interactions and a short quiz at the end that presents scenarios and asks the learner ‘What would you do’ ?
The course can be undertaken by individual students via self-registration and is also suitable for a teacher to do with the whole class as one. A certificate of completion with the learner’s name on it can be downloaded once they have finished the course.
The course can be completed in 30-45 minutes and there is also the option to delve deeper into additional information through clicking on ‘Ask Kev’.
The course emphasises that it is up to everyone to play a part – this training will help the learner understand what they need to know to ‘do the right thing’ and help protect their community from the potential impacts of FMD.
