Future Farmers In Australia

The Future Farmers Resource provides information to teach students about farm safety. This downloadable PDF booklet is suitable for teachers of Year 9 & 10 agriculture students. This updated version can support farm safety learning in classroom or school-farm settings. Thirteen farm-safety modules with instructions, teacher resources and assessment tools covering responsibilities in farm workplaces, emergency response, manual handling and safety with tractors, motorcycles, noise, firearms, electricity, chemicals, workshops and livestock. Modules contain an outline, presenter guidelines, a resource package and further information. Students apply a risk priority matrix to scenarios to assess the hazards identified, then suggest controls to be applied from a hierarchy. Answers for assessment tasks and links to relevant occupational health and safety legislation are included.
